J2EE Team Leader (ref: BELG IT-TL/03/09)

Successful candidates will be invited to organise and manage a team of high level J2EE software engineers, working in the Belgrade office for the implementation of international IT projects.

Tasks:

Prepare / process software specifications, define tasks, and distribute them to the development team
Design and implement the development framework for J2EE applications
Participate in high-level technical meetings for the selection of the implementation technologies and techniques
Supervise / evaluate the development work and provide technical assistance to the team of developers
Otimise the use of the resources and apply internal reporting procedures
Plan combined project activities and set priorities and synergies between various J2EE projects
Identify needs of resources and launch selection procedures
Represent the company in key technical meetings with the customers

Essential qualifications:

University degree in Information Technology or a similar subject
Minimum 3-year experience in leading positions in the IT industry
Excellent knowledge of written and oral English
Excellent Command of the Java Programming Language
Strong background on MVC technologies (Struts, Spring, etc)
Experience in EJB 3.0
Sound knowledge of ORM technologies (Hibernate, iBatis, etc)

Job description:

The successful candidate will join a team of consultants of our company who will offer their services in Nicosia, Cyprus, providing operational support of a cutting-edge government IT system. The prime responsibility of the successful candidate will be to manage the technical infrastructure of the IT system. Day-to-day activities will comprise:

Liaison with helpdesk operators and business consultants of our company, working in the same operational support team in Nicosia
Liaison with the main technical team of the system
Liaison with the technical staff of the client
Monitoring of network/server performance & security
Deployment of software patches to network/server equipment
Reporting and technical document writing

Essential qualifications:

University degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
Minimum of one year experience in IT system support
Excellent knowledge of English and Greek

Desirable qualifications:

Knowledge of TCP/IP networking to CCNA level
Administration of firewall technologies (ideally CISCO PIX/ASA)
Exposure to SAN technologies & backup systems
Systems administration of Redhat Enterprise Linux & MS Windows Server
Basic knowledge of java programming language

The successful candidate will work at the company’s headquarters in Athens for a period of 3 months for extensive training in all aspects of the system. Following the completion of the training, the candidate will be located exclusively in Nicosia.
